Drug Shortage Tracker

I just need to vent about picking up meds & being treated like an actual addict This will be long & im sorry So I live in a big city where we’ve been feeling the adderall shortages (both brand name & generic, instant & XR) for YEARS at this point. Especially in my specific area…the wait time to refill was always over a week bc they were always out of stock & it’s more densely populated, so I decided to start driving up to my parent’s area to pick up my meds every month. They live in the burbs where there are still wait times, but it’s only 1-2 days at worst (if at all). The only problem is it’s 30 miles from my apartment, or 13 from downtown where I work & there’s often traffic, so it’s still a time investment hahahaha but not as bad as waiting a full week Anyways, I met with my doctor yesterday for our check in & the office sent my script to my pharmacy this morning. As of today, it’s been 29 days since I picked up my last prescription…so my doctor told me I’d be able to pick up the new one today, no problem. State law allows pharmacists to fill ADHD meds after 28 days here, and today is day 29. So once I confirm the script has been received by the pharmacy & says “in progress” on the online portal, I drive my ass ONE HOUR to the pharmacy. I go to the counter, say my name, and the guy says “oh, you can’t pick it up until tomorrow.” I literally told him I drove an hour to get there bc the portal said they were working on it, so he gets the pharmacist. TELL ME WHY the pharmacist looks me dead in the eyes and says, “is there a reason you need it a day early??” IN A TONE THAT SOUNDS LIKE IM SOME KIND OF DRUG ADDICT?!? 😭 I told her that when I checked in with my doctor yesterday, she literally told me I could pick it up today. So in a little sassy tone, the pharmacist goes “okay, then let’s call your doctor and ask.” They filled my prescription, bc I wasn’t lying and my doctor knows me lol. And I guess I should be happy I’m getting it at all this month…but like why did she hassle me like that?!? I’m literally a busy corporate girly living her life in a congested city amongst shortages. They’ve made me wait for soooooo much longer than 1 day, and that’s fine…but the second I come to pick it up ONE DAY EARLY, suddenly I need a full reason & story as to why?!?!? I don’t want to be on medication either, maam, but here we are 🫠 Rant complete. Is it just me \*edits for clarity ETA: I checked my online portal, and it turns out for the last 3 months at this pharmacy, I’ve picked up my meds at 30 days on the dot LOL

I don’t understand the adderall shortage This is definitely going to make me sound like a moron but I’m swear it’s 100% genuine. I’ve been on adderall since 2022. I’ve been hearing about the shortage since then, but have literally never had an issue getting meds. I take it daily so am picking up every 28 days like clockwork and have never even have them be late, and when I was going to be out of the country for a month last winter I had no trouble getting an early refill. The “worst” I’ve had is bottles that have pills from two or three different manufacturers. I’m sure it comes down to location, but I guess I don’t understand why, or even how a shortage can last for 4+ years logistically? There are only a handful of pharmaceutical companies in the US that produce it, so 1) why don’t they just increase production and 2) why wouldn’t a shortage affect the entire country? It’s not like suppliers don’t know the population of the places they’re sending the drugs to. . .it’s not like there’s a set amount that they send to every city and LA gets the same number of pills as Indianapolis. Fwiw, I’m in WI in a metro area of \~150K. I’d be interested to know which areas are most affected if folks are comfortable sharing where you live and whether/how badly you are/have been affected by the shortage.

Adderall shortages in California Hello, around a year ago I got diagnosed with ADHD and was prescribed Adderall. for the last year I have not had any issues with picking up my prescriptions at my local CVS. However today for the first time I just got a notification that they are out of stock. I then started to look online and have been seeing at there has been what seems to be on and off shortages for the past few years. some people have even said they waited upwards of a month. i've then started to call other pharmacies near me but I haven't be able to find anything in stock. They either tell me they don't have it or tell me they can't tell me, etc. This is really upsetting. Being medicated has completely changed my life and now suddenly getting the rug pulled out from under me is really disheartening. especially now that I have started to take on way more responsibilities (like a larger class load) because I was able to on medication. Anyone in California (im in the sacramento area), is the shortage still happening? have you guys been having trouble getting your prescriptions if my pharmacy remains out of stock is there any advice on how to get my prescription? Generic Adderall Shortage I called in to get my g adderall refilled, went to pick it up only to be told it was on backorder and to call around to other pharmacies and ask if they had it. I got lots of no’s. Finally I asked one pharmacy if they had the name brand and they did. I bought it but it was almost $50 for 30 tablets. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Tips on calming myself down during emotional disregulation rage **TLDR: I need advice on how to calm myself down during my emotional disregulation rage spirals.** Posting because it’s gotten so bad that I can’t ignore it anymore. Sometimes some minor inconvenience sets me off and I become incredibly, intensely enraged. I’ll try to keep doing the things I need to do, like load the laundry or make the bed, and if the laundry door doesn’t close right I slam it, hit it, say horrible curse words, scream, throw my phone at the wall. It’s so insane. I feel possessed. Often afterward I end up just laying in bed crying because it gets so intense or I startle my cat or I feel so defeated and crazy. It’s not always so bad. I don’t always go full hulk mode. I’m currently PMSing and I get really bad mood swings when I do. And there’s a Vyvanse shortage in my region right now so I’m only taking half my dose. But it has gotten worse over the years, and I need to figure out how to regulate when I get like this. It’s scary and exhausting and my cat gets worried and eventually I’m going to accidentally break something. Also for context I am 30F and prooobably autistic though I’ve never sought out a diagnosis. Please any tips on how to calm tf down when I get like this. And also maybe some validation because I feel like I’m broken :/

Adderall shortage Hello all I’m new to this subreddit, I’ve add throughout my whole life but just recently started taking Adderall I’m up for a refill. Am I doctor is upping me from 10 mg XR to 20 mg XR We’ve tried like 20 pharmacies already, and none of them have it It has been so helpful, and I really don’t want to go without it. I’m sure this topic has been discussed a ton, but any advice or pointing me in a right direction on how to deal with this would be very helpful Additionally, does anyone know when this stupid shortage is gonna be over Thank you for any help
