2026 Adderall Shortage Info *Mods*: *feel free to delete, but I couldn't find a post within the past month that had good information about the current Adderall shortage (the one linked in the Automod comment is from 3 years ago).* Well fam, I guess we're doing this again. Looks like the Iran war (and/or other causes) are causing a national (USA) shortage of Adderall, specifically \*generic XR\* (and some shortages of generic IR as well). Called around to all my local CVS and Kroger pharmacies - they're all on back order for \*months\* and say they're not receiving \*any\* shipments of generic Adderall XR at all. Thankfully I was able to find a small business / non-chain pharmacy that still had my 30mg XR in stock but they say they won't have it in stock for long, and likely won't be getting any shipments for awhile either. Note that the \*brand name\* Adderall seems like it's in stock just fine (but without insurance you'll be paying $200+ for that). Texas is much bigger than Arizona. So why do their votes come in at Adderall speed, while Arizona takes days to count? Weird. 🤔

HEB Pharmacy refusing to fill prescription while attempting to fill my Adderall prescription today, the person who answered the phone suddenly went quiet and then told me she needed to talk to the pharmacist. Shortly after the pharmacist gets on the phone and starts asking me who I see at my provider and whether they are an M.D. I explained I see a nurse practitioner and all of their scripts are written by an M.D. at the provider. I was informed by the pharmacist this is “illegal” and the provider should know this. I’ve been getting controlled substances from this HEB for years under this provider and never had an issue until today. When talking to my provider they stated this all started about 3 weeks ago due to a new training at HEB. Apparently, their own employees can’t get their medication filled under this policy for the same illegal reasons I was told. Has anyone encountered this? Can anyone speak to this? Supposedly what changed is that HEB has decided that a law applying to retirement homes and elder care centers, now applies to everywhere. My provider assures me they are legal and compliant on all accounts.

How's the Adderall shortage treating y'all? For those of you prescribed Adderall or generic Adderall, or any other out-of-stock ADHD meds, how are you dealing with the shortage(s)? Are you doing alright? I'm struggling a bit. I was prescribed last summer, and I noticed I was getting more done but I didn't think I really felt much different. My pharmacy ran out in December, but I was recovering from surgery until the end of March so it wasn't a big deal. I was at home and on strict restrictions so I couldn't do anything anyhow. Switched pharmacies, got my scripts filled and went back to work first of April. Continued as usual. Now my new pharmacy is out of stock. I'm at work. I can not focus. I'm zoning out. I'm getting my work done, but its in spurts and sputters. I remember I had issues focusing before, I would start falling behind at work then power through a week's worth of paperwork in a day. But I don't remember it being this agonizingly painfully draining. If this is what it was like before diagnosis/meds, I have no idea how I got to where I am. Curious to see if this is a common feeling or how you guys are doing?

Adderall Shortage Frustration Hey, so for the first time since I have been diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed adderall, which was 8 years ago, I have absolutely no access to my medication due to the shortage. 2020 and 2023 were bad, but I still managed to find a pharmacy that had some in stock within a day or two. Now, there isn't a pharmacy that has it within 40 miles of me. I called the pharmacy in my parent's hometown in another state because it's in the middle of nowhere and doesn't have many customers anyway, only to find out it's the same deal. I've tried to find alternative stimulants, but those too are on backorder. This is pretty much ruining my life, the details of which I'd rather not discuss because of how frankly humiliating and depressing it is, and I'm just not sure where to go from here. You do everything right, you follow all the rules, you go to therapy, and at the end of day all those 8 years of self-work goes down the drain because of manufacturing quotas and someone deciding they wanted to start another war in the Middle East. I just needed to vent here because I am so incredibly exhausted from all of this and just want access to my medication again.

To anyone else having the worst time finding 15mg Adderall (generic is preferred, but if I have to settle for the brand name, I'll make it work). Recommendations, advice, any help is appreciated! It's really frustrating to me that there's been this ongoing shortage/not enough inventory/whatever excuse they keep spewing. It's 2025, I can't wrap my head around the fact that big pharma "can't" keep up with the "demand." Billion dollar companies with the most high tech machinery, ridiculously paid CEO/other upper management members regardless of the performance of their employees. There's a handful or two company leaders, higher ups, etc. that seem to actually appreciate and recognize their employees. But, yeah, back to there's no 15 mg generic /brand Adderalls (or even 5 mg) anywhere in the Austin/surrounding areas! So far, I've been on the phone with HEB Lakeway, Bee Caves, Lake Austin , Oak Hill, S Congress (new). Guess I'll keep calling and bugging them daily. It also sucks they don't have exact delivery details/expectations information 🤦🏻‍♀️. I know I'm not the only one whose been dealing with this BS for going on 2 years, this is ri-god-dam-diculous. Any feedback/help/ideas are so greatly appreciated!! When you hardly ever take your Adderall so you ask your doctor for a new script because you can’t find it because it’s been that long… Then you find it in the coffee cabinet because of course your ADHD mind would put tell you to put your stimulants together and then forget for you…
