For 24 Labor & Delivery nurses and OB residents at Baylor Scott & White – Fort Worth, that understanding became deeply personal. While helping families prepare for one of life's biggest moments, these moms-to-be were experiencing many of the same milestones, emotions and anticipation themselves. Together, they shared a season of life that brought them even closer to one another and to the families they care for every day. 💙

These two dozen nurses at Andrews Women’s Hospital at Baylor Scott & White Health All Saints in Fort Worth work long shifts while pregnant, supporting one another through every trimester, many even choosing to deliver their own babies at the very hospital where they work… placing their trust in the same coworkers they care for patients alongside every day! Some nurses even delivered their best friends’ babies! 🩷💙 And there’s one tradition that makes this story even more special: a shared delivery gown worn by staff members for years. 🥺 After each baby is born, the baby’s initials are added to the gown. More than 45 babies have been born in the original gown, which is now proudly displayed in the unit, while a new gown continues the tradition for the next generation of Baylor babies. It’s a story about more than babies. ChargeFacts (chargefacts.com) is a free, independent tool for searching these files no ads, no signup, no tracking. It covers 503 hospitals across Texas, Florida, and California. Honest caveats: these are facility-fee estimates, not personal quotes physician and anesthesia bills come separately, and delivery costs vary by complications, length of stay, and newborn care. Some hospitals' files are stale or incomplete, and the site flags that (with a freshness date) rather than hiding it. Every number links to the hospital's own published source file. DFW also has a growing list of freestanding imaging and lab centers with insurer-reported rates (BCBS Texas currently, more payers coming) worth checking before booking routine imaging or labs at a hospital. I’m going to be shadowing in the X-ray department at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Sherman soon, and I was wondering if anyone has done a similar shadowing experience or has any advice. I’m applying for a Radiologic Technology program and wanted to get a better understanding of what the day-to-day life of an X-ray tech is really like before starting. I’m excited but also a little nervous and want to make a good impression. For anyone who has shadowed or works as an X-ray tech: What should I expect during my shadow day? What types of exams/procedures should I expect to see? Are there things you wish you knew before your first shadowing experience? What questions should I ask the techs?
