Anxiety has been bad this month Hello! I’ve had anxiety all my life. It’s always made my stomach hurt growing up. I’d get super nauseous but I didn’t get diagnosed until 2021. I’ve been on lexapro since then and Hydroxyzine as needed. Well on June 9. I was supposed to fly to Texas and I woke up at 4am in a panic attack and throwing up so I cancelled my trip. I had another bad panic attack on June 13 (my birthday). Honestly since then I haven’t felt right. I haven’t been eating much lately because I’m scared I’ll get nauseous and throw up again. I’m starting to get really anxious about going to Chicago next week! I absolutely hate feeling like this. I wish I had a normal brain! Or I could just relax without feeling as if a panic attack could happen at any time

I thought I had to go to the hospital, but my coworkers and my father told me its just an anxiety attack. I still went to work but my heart was just not stopping and I am in Texas and the heat was making it worse. Finally I tried driving home but i couldn’t so i called my mom, when i got home my heart was still acting up. To keep a long story short my heart just would NOT stop at all i went a week without sleep until finally I decided I need to go to the ER. I get there and im in and out my EKG is fine, they draw blood and tell me im fine and tell me its just a heart symptom called “Tachycardia.” I couldn’t believe it and for months this still happened and mind you growing up I did not have problems with my heart. I eventually got prescribed Lexapro and was deemed depressed by my doctor which I really was not I had a huge fear of my heart giving out. For example today I went to the gym and I am consistent with the gym, but today I went and overworked myself and I sometimes get to a brink of a panic attack until I call my mom to calm down. I feel like either they just aren't paying attention very closely, they don't know what the hell I'm trying to say, or *I* don't know what the hell I'm trying to say; I suspect some combination of the latter two. In any case, I feel pretty certain that Lexapro is not for me (it just feels like a house-wife's pill, akathisia and the random urges to go out and do stuff when I *should not* be doing anything have been the biggest issues as they put me in position for a lot of risk-taking when I'm bored). I attempted to relate this to my psychiatrist and we just talked for a whole sessions about whether to decrease the Lexapro or stop it all together before I finally brought up the idea of a cocktail and she goes "ohh yeahhh we can do multiple drugs". It just seems like they don't really know how to help me, and there seems to be little to no direct line between them and my therapist on what my problems actually are. I wouldn’t consider myself “active” in terms of actually working out, but I work a job that requires me to walk, and walk a good distance in the South Texas heat. I drink a lot of water (about a gallon a day) and get plenty of electrolytes. I also take dance lessons once a week and get a good amount of exercise from that work out. I went to the gym for the first time yesterday, and did what I would consider a moderate intensity routine focusing on my entire body. It was incredibly difficult and I struggled to get through it, including failing to complete several sets without a short rest in the middle. I expected to wake up in serious pain this morning given how difficult it was, and was pleasantly surprised with the lack of pain, but on my morning about a 1/2 mile walk from my car to my shop, I seriously struggled walking downhill, to the point that my legs almost gave out. I understand that muscle weakness is a common side effect of Lexapro, especially in the first few weeks, but this feels excessive?
