The JFK Assassination: what is the most significant new information released? This case is over 60 years old and a common question is “what new information has come out?”. Even considering the data dumps and the interesting information found there, I think the two most significant releases over the last several years are the following. 1) James Jenkins book “At the Cold Shoulder of History” – Jenkins was 21 years old when he was called into the autopsy at Bethesda hospital. He was required to assist and stood very close to the body and helped with many of the procedures. Immediately following the autopsy, he signed an NDA to stay quiet about what he saw. He finally released his observations in an excellent book in 2018. I think his statement that JFK got hit by three shots is significant; one entry at the throat, one entry in the forehead at the hairline, and an entry in the back that did not penetrate the lung cavity. 2) Paul Landis’s disclosure about the bullet found – As he approached the limo at Parkland hospital, secret service man Paul Landis found a bullet wedge into the seat behind JFK. As he helped Governor Connally and JFK be removed from the back seats, Lanids placed the bullet on JFK’s stretcher. Emergency room nurse Phyliss Hall talks about finding this bullet and that it was never seen in any future photographs related to this case. The Upper Back Wound and Connecting the Evidence The Warren Commission had two issues in building their case of Oswald as the lone assassin. First, the alleged weapon could only fire 3 shots within the time frame captured on the Zapruder and other films. Secondly, the wound count at the scene equaled a minimum of five, with three points of entry on JFK, at least one on Connally, and a deflection wound on James Tague by the triple underpass. The final report outlined the single bullet theory to combine two of these shots into one. Later, the upper back wound was moved to be inline with the neck wound. Other issues existed with the shooting angles and directions of entry, but the above items were very obvious at the time. Recently, Paul Landis (secret service agent in the follow up car) recently released detailed information that identifies the back wound bullet and confirms that this bullet did not travel thru JFK. He helped Jackie get out of the backseat and he then noticed a pristine bullet wedged in the upper portion of the seat. This location is directly in line with JFK’s upper back wound. he grabbed it and placed it on the stretcher next to JFK. Looking for an old BBQ place near Parkland Hi folks! In July 2017, I found myself near Parkland hospital and went to this sit down BBQ place. Can’t find it now, so I assume it’s no longer in business. Looked very contemporary on the inside and not rustic like the usual BBQ places. Small dining room. Food had a higher end spin and wasn’t quite traditional BBQ. I do recall it was east of the DART light rail tracks, as I had to walk from the restaurant for a bit to get to the station. Went through a quiet neighborhood with an indie convenience store. I then took DART directly to DFW for my flight. Don’t remember which station. Any ideas?
