Shortage Struggle
I am really, really struggling with the current Adderall shortage. I was diagnosed last summer, at the age of 31.
I almost wish I never was prescribed Adderall. My quality of life changed so drastically, life without it is almost debilitating.
Adderall allowed me to remember to write down important dates and appointments. I can tackle my to-do list tasks in one day, without getting distracted or feeling overwhelmed. It helped me create structure to my day, allow time for taking care of myself, household chores, and anything remaining for work.
Without, I struggle to make my bed, brush my teeth, shower, and get dressed for the day. I don’t want to be social because carrying and following along with conversation takes me significant concentration I don’t have. I don’t want to problem solve, I don’t want to take care of things that have been put on the back burner for weeks. I’m tired and my executive functioning is exhausted by 2pm.
It’s almost 1:30 and I still haven’t made it out of bed. I struggle to stay awake during the day. I had a sleep study done, which showed no abnormalities.
I’m on Zoloft for depression, I tried Wellbutrin a while back with little to no improvement.
Can anyone else relate? Does anyone else have a similar experience? I’m completely open to and appreciate suggestions.
Thank you 🦋

Hello! I’m 19F and two days ago i started experiencing immense exhaustion. I have been sleeping 8+ hours so I don’t believe it could be my sleeping schedule, and I have been on Zoloft for months which may be a contributor.
However, what made me come here is how \* intense \* my exhaustion is. When I close my eyes I nearly fall asleep, I get waves of fatigue I can physically feel and make me dizzy, and my body feels weak and I have overall low energy. This has never happened to me before, which makes me seriously doubt it could be a mental thing ( I am also not stressed at all if you’re wondering, so I have no clue where this came from ).
Additionally, I am diagnosed with chronic migraines but they’re mild ( no pain, only aura symptoms ). However, I had an extreme migraine when my exhaustion started where I could physically feel the blood vessels in my nose and temple which / has / happened before but never to this extent.
I am considering seeing a doctor, but am I over reacting?
